Punched After the Fact (2023)

Official plot synopses: After being held at gun point a lonely, disillusioned janitor falls in love with his brash and wildly philosophical assailant, only to find that she has a stalker; a mild mannered writing hopeful intent on using her to sell his script.

PATF is an award-winning Portland based indie film co-directed and co-written by filmmaker’s Ian Fowler and acts as the debut feature film by filmmaker Gabriel Isaac Lakey. Writing begun in 2018 and the project received its funding in 2020, but had to be put on hold due to Covid. The film has completed its Principal Photography stage over the months of July 2021 to January of 2022. Punched After the Fact is now traveling the film festival circuit, playing countries like France, Sweden, India and America.

Punched After the Fact played to a sold out crowd at in Portland Oregon, at Cinema 21. Event put on by producer Michelle Mathews, and photos taken by Victor Andrews.

The Space Between Words

Official plot synopses: Five years after the death of her wife an unassuming bookstore owner attempts to accept new love when a chance encounter reawakens buried feelings.

This film kicked off the relationship between Lakey and Fowler. Lakey was brought on as a gaffer on this film, and it allowed for him and Ian Fowler to develop the filmmaking relationship that went on to create their next film Punched After the Fact
